You are cordially invited to the performative event by Lučka Centa at 10 pm at Račka Gallery.
The project was created at the short residency of AIR CELEIA as part of the accompanying program of the 5th Triennial of Young Artists PREMIERA 2022. Performance, interaction, process.
As humans, we are caught in a complex social network dominated by established hierarchical relationships. These power relations dehumanise the majority and value the individual not as a being but merely as a commodity. The Potatoroids project develops around the carving of potatoes as an allegory for the re-humanisation of the individual, where the potato takes on the role of the human being. The project playfully introduces the viewer to the social position of the individual, reminding them of their own strength and inviting them (through the use of a net) to reflect on the social system, collective captivity as well as the invincibility and eternity of the system itself.
