When I am with friends, I often wonder what it would be like if my mother and father were also present, this time as peers, maybe my age, maybe younger. How would we get along, would we see eye to eye, what would we confide in each othe … Since I do not have a time machine, I chose an analogue-digital journey, using old photos of my parents from their youth, enlarging them to realistic proportions and photographing myself with them again.
My father and mother divorced when I was 11 years old. Browsing through my childhood memories, I have almost no visual memories of the family as a whole. My memories are tied specifically to my mother and specifically to my father. Hence the two couples.
